Heyden Kudelko – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Mustangs are preparing for Halloween with their favorite horror classics.
Common favorites include ‘80s hits such as “The Shining,” “Friday the 13th,” and “The Thing.”
Sophomore Kylie Caffrey said, “My favorite is ‘The Thing.’ The practical effects give the movie a realistic feel, and the movie sets you on edge and keeps you guessing who is a thing.”
Sophomore Henry Michaud said, “I loved the cinematography of ‘The Shining’ and the fact that there’s always something new every time you watch. It’s more psychological horror then jump scares, but it’s still scary.”

Others prefer movies that fall under the Slasher genre.
Junior Justin Baltes said, “’Chucky’ is still scary, same with Jason. All those old horror movies are still scary. I also like the new ‘Halloween’ movies because they have such good gore.”
All in all, these horror classics continue to reign over most of the genre today, drawing in new viewers every Halloween season.
For more current recommendations, some Mustangs suggest Jordan Peele’s “Get Out” or Ridley Scott’s “Alien.”
