(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) -The National Honor Society (NHS) is active at LRHS for the 2022-2023 school year.

NHS is a national program that provides Mustangs with leadership, scholarship, and character opportunities.

English teacher and NHS adviser Tracey Gregory said, “NHS is a national organization that offers teacher help weekly, and they volunteer regularly at local schools, communities, and non-profits.

“Since NHS is a nationally recognized organization, colleges know that these students are exceptional and well-rounded,” continued Gregory.

Mustangs can qualify to be a member of NHS in their second semester of their sophomore year. Students applying for NHS need an unweighted Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher after the first semester grades.

The next teacher help day is scheduled for Oct. 20.
