(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS volleyball team had their first game back after Hurricane Ian Monday against Newsome High School.
The varsity team lost 14-25, 21-25, 20-25.
LRHS senior Vanessa Richtford led the team with 11 service points.
Mustang coach Jessica Leupold said, “Our team was a little rusty after missing out on two weeks of games, but we started getting back into it in the second and third set. We have some work to do before districts.”

Junior Varsity (JV) also lost to Newsome 15-25, 11-25.
Newsome is ranked number one in the volleyball district.
Captain Vaylin Jenson said, “We really could have done better, and we will play better on Wednesday against our rivals who we beat last time. I am so excited to win against them again.”
