(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS boys and girls golf teams won at the Manatee County Championship on Friday at River Wilderness Golf Club.

The team totaled 295 for the 18-hole event, winning their 17th county championship in the past 20 years.

LRHS sophomore Parker Severs was the top medalist with a 70 and his brother, senior Preston Severs, tied for second, shooting 74.

Parker Severs has been virtually undefeated this season. Along with the team win, Severs won the individual County Championship on Friday with two under par (70) at River Wilderness GC.

On Monday, he dominated the field at the Donald Ross memorial tournament (Tri-County) shooting six under par (66). At the tournament, at Sara Bay Country Club, Severs totaled seven birdies, ten pars, and only one bogey.

Next up, he will aim to win the Florida Junior Tour Championship at Lakewood National this upcoming weekend.

The LRHS girls golf team also won the Donald Ross Invitational at Sara Bay Country Club. The team shot an overall 242.

The top scorers of the match were seniors Lauren Hosier (77) and Jessica Kobetitsch (79). Hosier won the tournament individually, her second individual tournament win this season- preceding the Suncoast Invitational.

The girls golf team is now 9-0 this season and will be competing against Sarasota High School on Thursday at Royal Lakes G.C. and then Saturday at the Riverview Tournament.
