Sophia Bayindiryan – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS welcomes Albert Torchia as a social studies teacher for the 2022-2023 school year.
This is Torchia’s first year teaching at LRHS. He had been teaching for 11 years total at several schools throughout Manatee County, Tampa, and St. Petersburg, where he had grown up.
Torchia teaches world history and world cultural geography this year and has been teaching social studies throughout his entire career.
“When I first arrived and it was the week of teacher planning, everyone was so helpful and in good spirits,” said Torchia.
Torchia was born and raised in Florida all his life and became a teacher to share his passion for history with students and peers.

He hopes to have a positive teaching environment in the classroom and hopes to bring great succession to his students.
“I love the culture and atmosphere of the entire campus. Everyone seemed to want to be here,” Torchia continued.
