(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Many at LRHS are celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month, which takes place Sept. 15 – Oct. 15.
The 2022 theme for the month is “Inclusivity for a stronger nation.”
According to National Hispanic Heritage Month website the month is an opportunity to pay “tribute to the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society.”
The LRHS Spanish club and Spanish teachers encourage Mustangs to celebrate the month.
Spanish teacher Clara Westburger said, “In my classroom, I always teach my students to appreciate the Hispanic culture, not just one month out of the year.”

The Spanish Club is hosting events with Hispanic food, games, and even dance classes so that Mustangs can get a feel for the different cultures.
“The first event the Spanish club is holding this month is a salsa class Friday afternoon in room 503. It will be lots of fun and we will have Hispanic food to share too,” said Spanish club adviser and LRHS Spanish teacher Ivana Klammer.
