(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS math teacher Dean Klein is having a very different classroom experience in 2022-23.
Klein will be teaching math for college algebra, mathematical foundations, and geometry.
Before starting his career at LRHS, Klein was a substitute teacher for schools in the district.
Klein said, “It was a smooth transition. I knew about all the procedures and just needed to add a couple of my own.”
His previous nine years at Manatee County also included working as a teacher’s aide.
“The biggest perk of being a full-time teacher is knowing where I will be on a daily basis. I didn’t enjoy the constant movement of being a substitute teacher. I am also excited to form more personable relationships with my students, as before I only saw them occasionally,” he continued.

Klein earned his master’s degree last May and plans to get a Ph.D.
If he wasn’t teaching math, Klein said that he would like to teach science.
Klein enjoys subjects that deal with how the natural world works and hopes to inspire Mustangs’ future careers.
