Alexandra Devine – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS girls cross country team was successful at the North Port XC Invitation last weekend.
The team took home a third-place trophy with top finishers including sophomore Olivia Spiegel, sophomore Addison Shea, and freshman Skyler Quigley. The girls were awarded individual medals.
Spiegel placed fourth place, Shea in twelfth place, and Quigley in sixteenth.
Cross country and track coach Rae Ann Darling Reed said, “Overall, the girls set nine new personal records and three season bests. For three of the newer Mustangs, it was their first meet.”

The team will run on the same course three more times this season at the Tri-County, District, and Region races.
Reed continued, “It was great to see everyone run fast and have fun on the North Port course. Seeing the improvement week after week is very encouraging for this young squad.”
