(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS varsity volleyball team won a tournament last weekend.
The team started off strong with a win against Anclote High School. The set scores came to 25-18, 25-17.
They advanced to a second tournament against Booker High School and won 25-11, 25-13.
The team won their third match against Pinellas Park High School with set scores of 25-20, 22-25, and 15-9.
They followed up with another win against Boga Ciega High School with scores of 25-16 and 25-11.
Their final scores against Pinellas Park were 25-22, 25-16.
Seniors Katie Eckstrom and Vanessa Ritchford had four aces in their last game. Ritchford also had 24 assists.

Eckstrom said, “We were confident from the beginning, and I was sure we were going to win!”
In their second game, Eckstrom had 12 kills and senior Andrea Dietz had 18 digs.
Sophomore Hannah Sprungman said, “I felt so good about all these games. We all felt so confident!”
Head coach Jessica Leupold said, “We were very efficient with our games the girls wanted to get the wins and then get out, so they didn’t miss out on the homecoming dance.”
