(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Spanish Club is in full swing for the 2022-2023 school year with lots of events planned.

The Spanish Club held an informational meeting a few weeks ago and had their first official meeting last Friday.

Spanish Club adviser and LRHS Spanish teacher Raquel Klammer said, “We meet every other Friday in room 503 from 2:30 – 3 p.m. to do fun cultural activities, Hispanic games, movies, foods, and trivia.”

Mustangs interested in joining the Spanish Club can join the club Remind by texting @ed67a33 to the number 81010. The club membership fee is $15 and is payable on RevTrack.

Spanish Club’s 2022-2023 officers are as follows –

  • President: Naika Dumorne
  • Vice-President: Ramzia Sorathia
  • Treasurer 1: Olivia Chumbley
  • Secretary: Sofia Vizcaino
  • Historian: Ainsley Owens
  • Historian/Treasurer 2: Emily Salambash

When the Spanish Club does not have meetings, they are teaming up with Peer Tutoring to host Spanish Peer Tutoring. It will also be held in room 503 from 2:30. – 3 p.m.

Klammer continued, “Spanish Peer Tutoring will include Spanish speaking practice for students interested in participating their Spanish speaking skills. Everyone that wants to learn and/or share about Hispanic culture is welcome!”
