(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The Manatee Schools 2022 Post-Secondary Education Night will be hosted tonight at Manatee Technical College (MTC).

High school students are encouraged to attend the event. It is a Q&A session answering questions about college applications and admissions, financial aid, and bright future scholarships.

LRHS college and career adviser Carmen Purpus said the evening will be valuable for students and parents.

“During the event, students and families will learn valuable information about the application process, financial aid, and scholarships. Representatives will be on hand to answer any questions and supply information,” she said.

“Students and their families will receive in-person responses to their questions, gather information, and compare postsecondary opportunities which will enable the student to make informed choices about their future,” Purpus continued.

A wide variety of group representatives will be attending this event.

Students should expect to see all Florida colleges represented and other colleges as well, including Western Carolina University, New York Film Academy, and even United states Military branches.

Purpus said the face-to-face opportunity is especially valuable.

“Studies show that meeting in person is vital to forming connections. Students will be able to personally connect with representatives from colleges they are interested in and more likely to continue that connection after the event,” she said.
