(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) highlighted a productive start to the school year in its August monthly newsletter.
The Mustang Battalion newsletter keeps update parents and student cadre by publishing interview responses from lower cadre, board attendees, and battalion leadership.
Senior Battalion S-5 (Public Relations Officer) Sean Conerly is in charge of recording these events. Conerly conducts leadership interviews and oversees the monthly Mustang Battalion newsletter.
Conerly said, “I believe that everybody that wants to improve and become more involved and a better leader within the program should read the newsletter so they can learn from others’ mistakes and understand the leadership and their thought processes.”
The newsletter has been a battalion tradition since 2016. It was created in order to publish important updates to the parents and students that are involved with the battalion.

LRHS JROTC instructor MSG William Cassidy said, “The newsletter is a good way for cadets to get acknowledgement. Their parents can also see improvements in their sons and daughters through the newsletter in ways that they normally wouldn’t.”
Battalion operations are made available to the public through the monthly battalion newsletters. The monthly Mustang Battalion Newsletter can be found on the JROTC website.
