The LRHS girls golf team are on an unbeaten run

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS golf teams continued their strong winning streaks.

The girls golf team is currently 3-0 and have won all the matches played so far.

Most recently, the team played Sarasota Riverview at Heritage Oaks and won with top scorers being seniors Lauren Hosier (37) and Jessica Kobetisch (39).

Junior Alyssa Ghanayem said, “Playing in these matches every week is so rewarding as our team is really talented this year. I love watching my teammates play their best and seeing our winning streak continue. I’m excited to improve even more with every match we play.”

The boys have also been winning consistently with their most recent match being at Royal Lakes. The team beat four country rivals, Parrish High School, Braden River High School, Palmetto Community High School, and Manatee High School.

Their top Mustang scorers of the match were seniors Preston Severs (35) and Eli Martin (37).

Boys golf team coach Dave Frantz said, “I am very encouraged with the work ethic and enthusiasm of my team so far this season. We’ve played in two tournaments and one nine-hole match and held our own against those 42 teams statewide. Very excited to see how we do this season – as always, our goal is to get to the state tournament in November.”

The Mustangs golf teams are among the top athletic teams at LRHS and are looking forward to keep winning as the season continues.
