(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS volleyball teams played Bradenton Christian School (BCS) at 7 p.m. on Sept. 8.

The varsity volleyball team put up a fight against BCS but was defeated 21-25, 16-25, 17-25

The team is not discouraged despite the loss.

Senior captain Vennesa Richtford said, “You win some and you lose some. We lost this one, but we’ll be even better for our next game and hopefully get our winning streak back.”

Senior Tanner Sobecki-McMullen said, “I wanted the win just as much as everyone else, but the upcoming tournament is what matters now.”

The junior varsity lost 25-23, 19-25, 10-15.

Sophomore Vaylin Jensen said, “We played well, and we gave it our all. That’s the only thing that matters!”

The varsity team will play their next matches at the Wiregrass Sports Complex where they will compete against teams all around the county. The first match is scheduled for Sept. 9 with the second at 8 p.m. on Sept. 10.
