Kevin Oleary – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS Homecoming Spirit Week will begin Monday, Sept. 12 and run through Friday, Sept. 16.

Student Government Association (SGA) adviser and LRHS business teacher Tommy Cuervo urges all Mustangs to get involved in the themed dress-up days.

The dress-up days for the week and events are –

  • Monday 9/12 –
    • Dress Theme, Color Day:Mustangs will dress in colors according to their grade level. Freshman will wear pink, sophomores wear blue, juniors wear yellow, seniors wear purple, and staff wear orange.
    • Event, Clash of the Classes: The Clash of Classes will begin at 7 p.m. in the gym. Each grade level will compete in various games and events against the other classes.
  • Tuesday 9/13 –
    • Dress Theme, Tacky Tuesday: Mustangs will wear crazy mis-matched clothing, crazy hair styles, etc.
    • Event, Trivia Night: Trivia Night will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Mustangs will create a team of up to 6 students and answer trivia under categories ranging from sports to geography.
  • Wednesday 9/14 –
    • Dress Theme, Blast to the Past: Mustangs will dress up according to their favorite decade.
    • Night: Movie Night will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium for a showing of Monsters University.
  • Thursday 9/15 –
    • Dress Theme, Sports Day: Mustangs will represent their favorite team by wearing a jersey or sports gear.
    • Event, Bonfire: The bonfire will begin at 7:30 in the bus loop. Mustangs will participate in various activities and games. The LRHS cheerleaders, Silver Stars and Marching Band will be in attendance to get ready for the football game on Friday.
  • Friday 9/16 –
    • Dress Theme, LRHS Spirit Day: Mustangs will rep green and black LRHS gear.
    • Event, Pep Rally:All Mustangs will report to the gym during period 7.
    • Tailgate: The tailgate will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the grass field between the gym and stadium. Mustangs can purchase their tickets on Rev Track for $5. Food options will include Chick-fil-a sandwich or pizza. There will be various activities and games such as pie-a-teacher and sign-making.
    • Football Game: The football game will begin at 7:00 in the stadium against Celebration. The dress-up theme for the night will be western. Tickets can be purchased on GoFan for $6.

The Homecoming Dance will begin at 7 p.m. in the gym. Tickets are on sale for $35 until Sept. 16. No tickets will be sold on Saturday or at the door. All tickets must be purchased on Rev Track.

Guests from outside LRHS  are allowed to attend, but they must have a completed guest form approved by an administrator. Guest forms can be found in room 591 or during lunch in the cafeteria.

Guest forms must be turned in to the front desk with a copy of the guests Driver’s license or student ID no later than Sept. 9.
