(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Academic Team (a-Team) foresees a great season ahead after its first meeting.
The Academic Team competes in trivia games against other schools from around the county.
Club adviser and LRHS media specialist Audrey Dombroski predicted a successful season after their first meeting last week.
Dombroski said, “I think it went very well. We had 12 students attend and one who couldn’t make it to the first meeting. The students seemed excited. Some of the students who came were unfamiliar with the process and how we practice for our meets, but they were eager to learn.”
Most attendees had existing trivia knowledge.

The team will jump into competitions shortly after their first practices.
“There are numerous websites which I shared with the A-Team members on our Schoology page. I also found a few books with specific kind of trivia – like American trivia and Geography trivia and we’ll break into teams and compete with each other using those books as a steppingstone at future meetings,” Dombroski continued.
