(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The National Football League (NFL) remains the most popular sport in North America, a title that it has held for many years.
The NFL hosts the Super Bowl, a popular event that people anticipate all year, some holding huge parties for it.
This year’s Thursday night football kickoff game is between the reigning champion Rams and the Buffalo Bills. The Bills are looking to continue their recent success and the Rams are looking to win back-to-back NFL championships.
Last year’s championship was between the Cincinnati Bengals and the LA Rams in Los Angeles. The Rams ended the Bengals’ Cinderella story 23-20.
Many Mustangs are looking forward to the upcoming NFL season. Senior Ben Csicsek is excited about the Tampa Bay Bucs’ season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.
Csicsek’s said “My favorite player is the goat (greatest of all time), Tom Brady. The expectations are high as well. Expectations are for the Bucs to win the super bowl out in the desert in Glendale, Arizona.”

Sophomore Brenner Astman is thrilled about the Cleveland Browns.
The Browns are in the AFC North which is filled with solid teams including the Ravens, Steelers, and Bengals.
Astman’s expectations are lower, with the Browns making the playoffs and losing in the second round. Astman is anticipating a monster year from running back Nick Chubb, his favorite player.
Junior Nolan Miriktani is excited for his team, the LA Chargers this year.
“With huge off-season additions of J.C. Jackson and Khalil Mack so there are grand expectations for an improved Chargers team that is in the hardest division in the NFL with the Chiefs, Broncos, Raiders. I expect the Chargers to win the division with a 12-5 record and expect the team to make the Super Bowl,” Miriktani added.
