Alivia Insixiengmay – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS choir director Rebekah Lester will be advising the new Lakewood Singers club for the 2022-2023 school year.

The after-school program will hold auditions 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 6. All Mustangs can audition.

Mustangs will be asked to prepare a one-minute song to sing. They will be able to use recorded accompaniment music.

The Lakewood Singers’ first event is scheduled for the homecoming dance.

Practice will be held every week on Tuesday. Mustangs can expect two-hour practices.

Junior Sydney Devriendt said, “The after-school choir program is wonderful for students to be more engaged in chorus. It’s a fun opportunity!”

The Lakewood Singers will attend the Music Performance Assessments (MPA) towards the end of the school year. A Universal Studios field trip will be scheduled shortly after.

Senior Gabrielle Neff said, “I think it’s a great opportunity for students! It’s flexible and doesn’t require any homework. Opportunities are given to students for them to express their artistic values and emotions.”
