Savannah Adams – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Them 2022-23 meeting for LRHS girls soccer is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Monday in Room 619.

The meeting will discuss the details of the Mustangs’ preseason training and tryouts.

Preseason training and conditioning starts on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Head coach Delaney Riggins is optimistic about the upcoming season.

Riggins said, “This community is filled with top-level athletes and it’s always the best competition at tryouts. I am confident we will have another extremely talented group and I’m so excited to get this season started!”

During preseason, upperclassmen run the conditioning sessions and coach Andrew Shackelford runs weightlifting, strength, and agility training.

Senior Regan Kelly said, “The conditioning session for preseason involves long distance interval runs, sprinting then active recovery, mile runs, and core workouts.”

Those returning are very excited to get back into the swing of things.

Junior Madison Adams said, “I am very much looking forward to seeing everyone again and competing with a strong group of girls.”

Riggins is also happy to see the old and new faces that will show up.

“I am very excited to see what this season has in store. We have some very strong players returning to us, and I can’t wait to see what our incoming players have to offer. I am looking forward to another great season with a wonderful group of girls,” continued Riggins.
