(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS welcomed new school counselors Anastasia Verno and Jennifer Moser to the staff for the 2022-2023 school year.
Verno is the new counselor for Mustangs with last names Mi-Sa. While this is her first year at LRHS as a counselor, she has been a counselor ever since she graduated Syracuse University in 2006 and even subbed at LRHS last year.
“There is nothing cooler than helping students with their future. I get to know so many students as a counselor and that is so special,” said Verno.
She also mentioned that her love for the classic film “The Breakfast Club” influences her desire to work with children as well.
Growing up in the Midwest and New York, Verno moved to Florida because of the sunshine and for her love for the beach.
Moser has been at elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools in Virginia, Texas, Japan, and Florida. She started in Florida in Pinellas County, but moved to Lakewood Ranch to work in the same district that her children were attending school in. She serves students with last names Sb-Z.
“I decided to become a school counselor because I wanted to help students be successful through not only academics but also teach others how to build positive connects with others and invest in our future generations,” said Moser.

She has been working at schools for 12 years.
Moser also explained that she made her way to Florida after her husband retired from the U.S Navy after 21 years; after travelling around the world for years they decided Florida was a good place for them to settle with their six-year-old triplets.
“I am super excited to be a part of this amazing group here at Lakewood Ranch and look forward to working with everyone this year,” continued Moser.
