(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Mustangs were welcomed back to LRHS for the 2022-2023 school year by many positive changes to campus.
Over summer break, school officials made many changes including new flooring for the school, renovations in the library, and the start of building a new two-story addition to LRHS.
LRHS Principal Dustin Dahlquist said, “Flooring is redone throughout the entire school, trees have been trimmed and redone, and the entire campus was pressure washed.”
LRHS will also build a new two-story building behind the school that will include twenty classrooms, two bathrooms, and will replace around twenty portables. Dahlquist said work to build it will start soon.
“It’s a $15-million project and work should start next week,” continued Dahlquist.

LRHS is also in the process of renovating the entire library.
Media center specialist Audrey Dombroski said, “The walls were painted, new light fixtures were put in place, the old bookshelves that were very tall have been removed, and there’s brand-new carpet and flooring throughout the media center.”
Dombroski explained how new furniture and bookcases are ordered and expected to arrive in October, and the library will continue to stay open. Dombroski added she can’t wait to show off the new media center this year.
