The LRHS boys golf team enjoys their “Mustang Cup” victory

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS boys golf team defeated the girls in Tuesday’s annual Mustang Cup competition.

The annual LRHS Mustang Cup took place on Tuesday, August 16 at Royal Lakes Golf Club where the boys team beat the girls 3 ½ points to 1 ½ points.

Senior Preston Severs said, “It was a tough match, but I’m glad we got to defend the title and it was a lot of fun. For this being my last Mustang Cup, i’m happy with the results and excited for what’s to come this season.”

Senior Jessica Kobetitsch said, “I had a great day out on the course and it’s so nice to get to play a fun casual round with the boys. They’re great competitors and it’s such a fun way to start off the season.”

The Mustang Cup is a pre-season event as it brings the teams together and gets everyone ready for the competitive season to follow.

The boys’ next match is Aug. 22 at the John Ryan Invitational in Venice, followed by the girls who play St. Stephens on Aug. 24 at River Club Golf Course.
