The LRHS volleyball team started the season successfully

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS varsity volleyball team won their first game of the season against Out of Door Academy (ODA).

The scores for each set came to: 25-13, 23-25, 25-15 and 25-16.   

LRHS head volleyball coach Leupold said, “It was an extremely good starting game for our girls this season. We fought through a little bit of nerves, and they really played their hearts out.”

Senior Sydney Sprague, sophomore Hannah Sprungman, and junior Andrea Dietz led the team in serves.

Senior Vanessa Richtford led the team in assists and senior Katie Eckstrom led in hitting.

Richtford said, “The win was an exciting start for the team. It will encourage us to play even better in the future.”

The team will play their next match against Wharton on August 20.
