(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Mustangs welcomed 574 freshmen to LRHS for the 2022-2023 school year.

After experiencing their first week, several freshmen had strong impressions of their new school.

Sophia Wiley said, “It was a little overwhelming finding my classes due to the amount of people.”

Other freshmen were having trouble adjusting to a bigger school yet expressed their excitement for a good year.

“It’s definitely bigger than my middle school,” said Kylie Scott.

Madison Poythress said, “The first day at LRHS was stressful yet exciting. I am excited to see how this school year goes!”

Many upperclassmen have advice for Mustang freshmen during their first two weeks.

Sophomore Stephanie Green said ninth graders need to take the year seriously.

“Most people think that freshman year is a free year, but it sets you up for your entire high school academic career,” she said.
