Josie Plakyda – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Mustangs 2022-23 golf season has begun.

Both the boys and girls teams began practice in early August.

Sophomore Henry Burbee said, “This season I’m looking forward to getting to know the new teammates and winning many tournaments with them.”

The teams are also preparing for the annual LRHS “Mustang Cup,” when the boys and girls will play against each other in a competitive match.

Senior Lauren Hosier said, “The Mustang Cup is always a fun event and I’m excited to try to win the trophy again”

The Mustang Cup is scheduled for Tuesday, August 16 at the Royal Lakes Golf Club.

The upcoming scheduled competitions are –

  • The boys’ first pre-season match is Wednesday, August 17 against Cardinal Mooney High School.
  • The boys’ first regular season match is August 22 at the John Ryan Invitational in Venice.
  • The girls’ official season starts on Tuesday, August 23 at River Club Golf Course against St. Stephens.

Both the boys and girls teams are defending district champions.
