(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Recent LRHS graduate Reagan Gross (class of ‘22) was honored at the 2022 Athletic Trainers’ Association of Florida (ATAF) Symposium after winning the Pre-Professional Student of the Year award.
The ceremony took place July 9 in Kissimmee, FL, to honor award winners and the 2022 ATAF Hall of Fame class.
LRHS head athletic trainer Sydney Suppa said, “This is a huge accomplishment for Reagan, and I could not be more proud!”
In order to be considered for the award, Gross had to be nominated by a certified and licensed athletic trainer, had to maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, and had to have the intent to pursue athletic training professionally.

Gross is the third LRHS Mustang to win the award and will receive a plaque to recognize her achievement.
The award was re-structured this year and was previously called the High School Student Aide of the Year award. Previous LRHS winners of the award include Nadia Cincotta (2018) and Lauren McGill (2020).
The Athletic Trainers’ Association of Florida stated, “ATAF is committed to the advancement of our profession through education, community engagement, legislative efforts, and professional development, dedicating financial support and leadership, ultimately enhancing patient-centered care.”
