(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS’s 2022 graduation ceremony has been rescheduled. The event was set for Friday night at Bradenton’s LECOM Park, but the National Weather Service predicts potentially dangerous weather. School officials have rescheduled graduation for Saturday morning at the same venue.

Here is a statement from LRHS Principal Dustin Dahlquist-

The inclement weather forecast for Friday night has forced us to move our graduation ceremony to Saturday, May 21, at 11:30 AM at LECOM Park in downtown Bradenton.  We believe this move is necessary for the safety of our graduates, families, and staff.  The change in date and time also provides an increased likelihood for the commencement to take place this weekend.

We thank the School District of Manatee County, LECOM Park, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Bradenton Marauders, and the Manatee County Sherriff’s Office for being able to make this adjustment so that we are able to accommodate seating for the thousands of families and friends who want to celebrate with our graduates.

Each senior received 10 tickets for family and friends for the graduation ceremony which has now been rescheduled to take place at LECOM Park in downtown Bradenton at 11:30 AM this Saturday, May 21.  Please arrive early as the gates will open at 10:30 AM.  Seating is general admission so you may choose your seats.

The traffic and parking at that time will be quite heavy.  Please allow yourself enough time to arrive well before the start of the ceremony.  A map for directions and parking was provided to the seniors at the cap and gown pickup.  Please consider carpooling so that everyone in your group arrives together.

The graduates will begin lining up at 11:00 AM, but they need to be checked in and ready much before that time.  Please bring rainy weather gear for your graduate, you, and your families as there is still a chance of showers.

Please pay attention to any of the announcements on the Remind App as that is where any additional changes or information will be posted.
