(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Nine LRHS Mini-Mustangs celebrated their graduation from pre-kindergarten Wednesday.

Mini-Mustangs is a voluntary pre-kindergarten  (VPK) program where children are taught social and emotional skills that they will need moving forward into kindergarten.

It also provides an opportunity for Mustangs who take interest in pursuing careers in teaching and childcare.

LRHS VPK teaching assistant Catherine Shutte said, “The days are long, but the years are short. I’m very proud of the Mini-Mustangs and I can’t wait to see how they grow in the future.”

Early Childhood Development teacher Delaney Riggins said, “I’ve watched them grow over the course of the year and I’m so proud of each one of the Mini-Mustangs and I know they all have bright futures ahead of them and I wish them the best of luck in kindergarten.”

Senior Carson Manning, who taught Mini-Mustangs, said, “I’ve been in the program for four years and I will miss it the most. They are amazing kids and they’re going to do great things in the future.”
