Mustangs start new club for medical-minded girls

Kaitlyn Case – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Lady Mustangs interested in the medical field have the opportunity to join Girls in White Coats for the 2022-2023 school year.

Girls in White Coats is a club that allows girls to grow their medical knowledge through teachings, experience, and practice. The club was founded by juniors Kate Tuchman and Tiereny Thornhill, who will act as the club’s co-presidents next year.

“I started the club because there is nothing else like it at Lakewood Ranch,” Tuchman states. “I wanted to create a new opportunity for girls with the same interests as me.”

Tuchman and Thornhill have many plans for the club’s initial year, including field trips to hospitals, guest speakers, fundraisers, and volunteer opportunities for members.
