Alexandra Devine – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS girls beach volleyball team dropped a playoff matchup at the Upper Manatee River (UMR) Sports Facility against the Cardinal Mooney Cougars on Monday.

The game was a part of the 2022 Florida High School Athletics Association (FHSAA) State Beach Volleyball Tournament 1A.

The team lost the play-in matchup by a score of 3-2.

The Mustangs won the first ever beach volleyball district championship and freshman Eliza Lander said, “It was an amazing season, everyone played really well and improved all season long.”

The girls won in pairs one and two with scores of 2-0 and 2-1, respectively. Pairs three, four, and five were won by Cardinal Mooney all by a score of 2-0.

The team ended the playoffs this year with a 2-1 record.
