Nadia Gandhi – Special to Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Blood Drive Committee partnered with Suncoast Blood Centers to host an on-campus blood drive Friday.

There were a total of 79 blood donors. Each pint of blood helps three people.

Mustangs signed up to donate throughout the week at lunches. Donors signed up for a particular time to donate.

Some faculty also donated.

Cindy Winnings, one of the partners for Suncoast Blood Centers said, “In my 10 years as a blood bank representative, LRHS’s blood drive committee is the most conscientious and kind group of students I’ve partnered with.”

Senior Andrew Boudreau had an excellent experience donating blood.

“I didn’t have any adverse reactions and I thought the process went really smoothly,” Boudreau said.

Blood Drive Committee president Reva Gandhi, senior, was excited to see that the blood drive ran smoothly.

“I am so proud of the committee as a whole and am proud of our school for collectively deciding to help out the community,” Gandhi stated.
