(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS held a spring signing day on Tuesday, as 15 LRHS athletes signed to continue their athletic careers in college.

LRHS athletic director Kent Ringquist said, “Today was a huge day for our student athletes. We had 15 athletes sign their letter of intent to major colleges and universities throughout the United States.”

The following athletes signed –

  • Grace Hogie – University of North Florida – Softball
  • Jayla Daoust – Hillsborough Community College – Softball
  • Frank Runge – Mckendrie University – Swimming
  • Jack Burbee – University of West Florida – Golf
  • Aurora Melzer – University of Kentucky – Cross Country/Track & Field
  • Hailey Marston – Auburn University – Cross Country/Track & Field
  • Maya Bridgeford – Georgia Southern University – Track & Field
  • Tyson Robare – University of St. Mary – Soccer
  • Tim Williamson – Oglethorpe University – Golf
  • Gianna Carneglia – Belmont Abbey College – Soccer
  • Brooke Pater – University of Tampa – Beach Volleyball
  • Ashley Pater – University of Southern California – Beach Volleyball
  • Ryan Combs – Polk State College – Baseball
  • – Volunteer State Community College – Baseball
  • Zach Miller – Florida State College – Baseball

Ringquist added, “LRHS is so proud of our athletes; it is a testament to their hard work to advance to the next level.”

Signing to play in college is a great accomplishment and something many of these Mustangs have dreamed of since they were young.

Miller stated, “It really means a lot to have the ability to be on stage and sign to play my sport in college. Not many people get this chance to play at the next level and I am very excited.”

LRHS varsity swim coach Steve Lubino added, “Signing day is a testament to high school sports and how far all the athletes have come, congratulations and good luck to all the athletes who signed.”
