(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS juniors and seniors have been eagerly waiting for prom and with it the voting for prom king and queen.

Unlike homecoming king and queen, teachers nominate the candidates and then Mustangs vote.

LRHS Junior Advisory Board (JAB) adviser and science teacher Tana Phelps has been coordinating the prom king and queen process, sifting through candidates, and organizing the voting.

Phelps said, “When Mustangs get to prom they may vote once. We will tally the votes and the king and queen will be announced it before prom is over.”

Prom will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 8 at the Hyatt Regency in Sarasota.
