Sophomores Tess Lippincott, Sydney Nolin, and Andrea Mondragon competed as a team in the focus on children category.

Both teams received gold medals, signifying their achievements in creating, detailing, and presenting their projects to a panel of judges.

Baker and Mirikitani also received $500 scholarships to Keiser University.

Both teams also qualified for the National Leadership Conference Competition this summer in San Diego, California.

“I am proud of all of us and did not expect a gold for our project. I am also super excited for nationals this summer,” said Nolin.
