LRHS freshman Khushi Talluru enjoys her Disney recognition

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS freshman Khushi Talluru has been awarded a prestigious mentorship through the Walt Disney Dreamer’s Academy.

Each spring, the Disney Dreamer’s Academy hosts a program that mentors 100 young participants at Disney World Orlando. For four days, 50 boys and 50 girls travel with a group of other high school students and visit various mentors, speakers, and career workshops.

Talluru said the program combines an incredible range of students that have unique aspirations.

On August 6, 2021, Talluru submitted an application that answered questions about herself and her future.

“When I found out about the Disney Dreamers Academy through a college board video, I fell in love with the opportunity. I have always had confidence in myself and my abilities, yet I was still shocked to find out that I had been accepted,” said Talluru.

Over 15,000 high school students nationwide applied and only 100 were given mentorships.

Talluru said, “Over the four days, I truly had a magical experience. I met with so many top industry professionals that encouraged all of us that we could change the world in our very own ways. In addition to the workshops, I got to meet the other students and learn about their dreams as well.”

Talluru plans to go to college and specialize in medical writing.

Talluru said, “This experience has allowed me to look at my future in an amazing new light. Before, I thought it was impossible to blend my two passions – but now, I realize that it is possible. I would highly recommend the Disney Dreamers Academy to anyone who wants to learn further about their dream with guidance.”
