The LRHS cheer team wants to build on a successful year

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS 2022-2023 cheerleading teams have been announced.

Out of roughly 50 girls who tried out 16 made varsity and 16 made junior varsity.

Head coach Sherri Haber said, “Our hopes for this season are to cheer on our football and spread school spirit. We also hope to win the county fair competition next January.”

New varsity cheerleader sophomore Chloe Wetherington said, “This season I’m looking forward to bonding with all my teammates and preforming challenging routines that push us to get better.”

Cheer team manager junior Alyssa Gonzalez said, “I am so excited for the upcoming competition season, we have so many talented girls joining our ranks this year and I am hopeful for our future performances as well as getting to know this new group of dedicated athletes.”

The new team now gears up for their annual silent auction which will be held on Saturday, April 23rd as well as mini cheer camp in July. Both events are fundraisers to raise money for next year’s teams.
