LRHS sophomore Nate Smith is headed to state wrestling championships

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Two Mustangs from the LRHS wrestling team have qualified for the state championship tournament.

Senior Ranson Coons (182 pounds) and sophomore Nate Smith (285 pounds) both took fourth place at regionals, advancing them to states.

Smith said, “The journey to states wasn’t easy and took lots of commitment, but it was worth it in the end. I am hoping to continue my run and perform well this week.”

There will be a sendoff for Coons and Smith during C lunch on Wednesday, March 2 in the cafeteria.

The state championship will start Thursday, March 3 at the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee.
