Mustangs contribute to local hockey success

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The Manatee Admirals, a local ice hockey team, is made up of players from local high schools including Manatee and Parrish Community. However most, including all of the team’s seniors, are from LRHS.

The Admirals wrapped up their successful season on Friday, Feb. 4 finishing seventh in the state and first in their division.

Sophomore Nick Kelly said, “We are a hardworking and driven team, as we have already made states claimed first in our division.”

The Manatee Admirals are part of the Lightning High School Hockey League, run by the Tampa Bay Lightning Hockey Team.

Senior captain Luke Wessel scored 47 points during the regular season.

Wessel said, “We are had an electric season this year finishing first in our division.”

The team’s season is over but the team is hopeful to come back smarter and stronger next year.
