Jared Baker -Mustangs Ahead         

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS boys varsity baseball team won their first preseason game 5-2 against Parrish Community High on Tuesday.

Third baseman and pitcher senior Tobias Davis said, “The game went great, we played till the end as a whole and the team got great reps.”

Sophomore shortstop Jack Muller added, “We fielded great and hit really well. We executed great as a team, and I think we can do really good this season.”

The team is led this year by a new head coach, Colton Chubb.

Chubb is a LRHS alumni who played baseball throughout high school and college, finishing at Valdosta State University in Georgia.

Davis added, “I think our team has great potential for the upcoming season.”

The team’s next game is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17 against Palmetto High at Parrish Community.
