Kaitlyn Harper- Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Senior Mustangs have the opportunity to apply for the 45th annual Golden Herald Award. This community service award is open to all Manatee County students and there will be 16 recipients.

The Bradenton Herald established the Golden Herald Awards in 1978 to recognize outstanding high school seniors in Manatee County. To date, the program has honored more than 4,631 seniors for their commitment to school and community.

There are 16 categories to apply for:

  • Journalism
  • Mathematics

The deadline for the application is 4:30 p.m., Feb. 25 and applications must be delivered to Manatee Memorial Hospital.

LRHS English teacher Jennifer Grant is the school’s Golden Herald coordinator. 

“I think this is a good opportunity and a good accolade that will look good on college applications,” she said.
