LRHS school counselors serve a variety of roles on campus

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – This is National School Counseling Week which honors school counselors across U.S. school systems.

It is hosted by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA).

The ASCA stated on their website, “School counselors have a tremendous impact in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.”

At LRHS, School counselors give Mustangs advice on future college and career plans as well as help with dealing with stress and anxiety.

School counselor Melissa Alter said, “We like becoming a shoulder of comfort for any Mustang because it is important to know that there is someone to talk to.”

College and career counselor advisor Ricardo Acevedo added, “I want to be able to help Mustangs not make the same mistakes I did and offer reassurance.”

School counselors are essential to the success of LRHS and have a significant impact on Mustangs, helping with everything from personal crises to meeting graduation requirements.
