Mustang boys prepare for basketball playoffs

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS boys varsity basketball team played three games last week and came out with a 1-2 record.

On Tuesday, the Mustangs faced Elevation Prep Academy and won 88-75.

They then headed down to Naples and faced the Barron Collier Cougars on Thursday, where the Mustangs lost 64-47.

Senior Matthew Feldman and Junior Ian Rodriguez had multiple three pointers in the Mustang loss.

On Friday, the Mustangs played the Parrish Community Bulls and faced another hard loss 51-63.

Senior Andres Junge said, “Their student section was rowdy, and it was difficult to play a game the day after such a long bus ride, but we are all focused on performing well for the upcoming playoff games.”

The Mustangs are now 15-10 for the regular season.

The Mustangs next visit the Plant City Raiders at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9 in their first district playoff game.
