Boys lacrosse season starts Jan. 24

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS boys lacrosse team is getting ready to start their season with tryouts starting on Monday, Jan. 24 and continuing throughout the week.

Senior Kenneth Le said, “To prepare for tryouts I have been playing lacrosse in my free time and scrimmaging with friends that are also trying out.”

Christian Dombovari will be taking the position as head coach this season.

Dombovari said, “I have coached high school lacrosse for five years and 13 as a club coach. I have coached at the Sarasota Military Academy, Riverview high school, and Sarasota high school.”

This year, Dombovari plans to continue to grow the boys lacrosse team here at LRHS.

“Our program has been trending up over the past few years and I hope to continue that trend. It starts with team culture and the coaching staff to be successful,” said Dombovari.

Le added, “I am excited to have the opportunity to work with a new coach this season. It is always great to be able to learn from someone new.”

The first home game of the season takes place on Tuesday, Feb. 22 against Berkeley Prep.
