(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS Florida Future Educators of America (FFEA) had a productive first quarter shadowing teachers and attending an educational conference.

FFEA is a club for Mustangs who want to pursue careers in education and learn about what teachers do behind the scenes or want experience working with children.

Members of this club have been shadowing teachers to gain a better idea of what a career in education would entail.

Freshman Makenna Dyer shadowed LRHS English teacher Jennifer Grant. “I got to be in an environment where I got to see how teachers react to certain situations, and it was a new experience that was very enlightening to me and gave me an idea of what I may do in the future,” said Dyer.

At the educational conference, members listened to seminars from experts around the state that discussed topics such as lesson planning, skills needed in the teaching profession, and how to create and maintain a healthy schedule.

LRHS FFEA vice-president junior Hannah Barrineau said, “This online conference allowed us to hear from experienced educators and was a beneficial experience for the whole club.”
