Freshmen Reagan Mayforth and Maggie Sugalski deliver canned goods

On Wednesday, Oct. 17 less than 1000 cans had been collected but by Thursday afternoon, there were over 5000 cans.

Math teacher and Lakewood Leaders adviser Meghan Sugalski said, “The last-minute push from assistant principal Valencia Lowen encouraging first period teachers to get involved along with getting the word out on the announcements, on ‘Mustangs Ahead,’ and the all-call home led to people stepping up.”

Proceeds from the food drive will go towards Feeding Tampa Bay.
