Mustang swimmers were among the state’s top

(Lakewood Ranch, FL) – LRHS varsity swimmers senior Dimiter Zafirov and senior Frank Runge swam at the class 4A state championships on Friday, Nov. 15.

Preliminary swims were Friday morning and finals were Friday night.

Zafirov made “A” finals in both his events and Runge made “B” finals in both his events.

Runge placed twelfth in the state in the Boys 200 Yard (1:42.00) and eleventh in the Boys 500 Yard Freestyle (4:37.47).

Zafirov placed eighth in the state in both the Boys 200 Yard Freestyle (1:40.83) and Boys 100 Yard Butterfly (50.61).

Runge said, “States was a lot of fun this year I am sad that it is my senior year and last season on the team, but I am happy I get to end it off on a high note.”
