LRHS esports coach Kari Keech-Babcock directs a diverse team

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS esports team is a model of diversity that includes players of all backgrounds and upbringings.

Mustang esports coach Kari Keech-Babcock said, “I am big on creating communities and I feel this year we have one of the most diverse esports teams. I hope this pattern continues as I feel everyone should have a home base somewhere.”

Keech-Babcock feels that having diversity is beneficial for everyone and being able to nurture each unique Mustang is rewarding.

With Keech-Babcock herself being the female coach of the team, she prides herself on recruiting new Mustangs no matter their differences.

Keech-Babcock feels rewarded when the Mustangs can be themselves on the esports team.

“Just being able to see the Mustangs feel comfortable enough to be themselves and interact is by far my favorite part of coaching our teams,” continued Keech-Babcock.

Sophomore Ethan Kranert said he appreciates Keech-Babcock’s emphasis on community.

“Being on the team allows me to surround myself with people who are like me and have the same interests,” he said.
