LRHS senior Paige Willemsen has won a PCA scholarship

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS flag football player senior Paige Willemsen has been selected as a winner of the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) 2022 Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship.

The PCA Triple-Impact Scholarship is awarded to student-athletes who positively impacted their sport on three levels: by making themselves, their teammates, and their community better.

Only 108 student-athletes nationwide received a PCA Scholarship.

Willemsen said, “Playing flag football helped me learn about sportsmanship, camaraderie, and perseverance through difficult times.”

 Positive Coaching Alliance – Tampa Bay partner operations manager Beth Anne Brown said the PCA is proud to recognize student athletes like Willemsen.

“Positive Coaching Alliance – Tampa Bay is pleased to recognize and reward athletes like Paige who have a positive impact on their team, their school and their community through their sports participation,” she said. “We’re particularly excited about Paige because she’s coached by PCA Double-Goal Coach National Winner, Elijah Weaver, and has participated in our Character & Leadership Development Program. She is truly a Triple-Impact Competitor!”

PCA – Tampa Bay has provided over $350,000 in scholarships to approximately 200 local high school student-athletes. The 25 local winners from the PCA – Tampa Bay Class of 2022 will each receive $2,000 towards college expenses.
