Bernard Wilkes is a new LRHS teacher

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)-  LRHS welcomed new social studies teacher Bernard Wilkes on Monday, Nov. 1.

Prior to being a teacher, Wilkes worked as a manager for an international shipping company and an inside manager for a landscaping company. He also spent time being a professional stage actor and director.

Last year, Wilkes began to pursue his teaching career starting with being a full-time substitute at Nolan Middle School.

Now, Wilkes teaches geography, economics, and government here at LRHS.

“What motivates me as a teacher is remembering the excellent teachers I’ve studied under in my academic career,” Wilkes said.

Wilkes hopes to help his Mustangs become better people and wants them to keep wanting to learn even after they graduate.
