(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS flag football team is beginning to prep for their upcoming season.

Offseason workouts will start soon and be led by head coach Elijah Weaver.

Weaver said, “We want to compete for a district championship. We had a great summer season with our club team, and we want to carry over that success to our next season. Our girls must maintain a focus which they’ve never experienced in order to achieve the results we want as a unit. We can get there for sure, but they must put in the work for it to happen. “

Next season poses a challenge for the team with a loss of many players but the remaing players are ready to work extra hard to make up for the loss.

Senior Leijah Tiana feels they have a strong group of girls to keep the team going next season.

“I feel like it’s going to be a good and secure season, the girls are persistent and hardworking and we have specific goals set for this season. One of them is working on our offense and defense. I think its achievable if we all encourage each other and give our 100% effort,” said Tiana.
